Learn the basics of your camera’s exposure modes, flash modes, and photo composition. We will explore the use of apertures and shutter speeds and their effects on “Depth-Of-Field” control and Motion control (Both stopping motion and giving the appearance of motion). We will also examine those principles that constitute a good photograph such as composition, formatting your subject, and the basics of using light effectively. There will also be shooting assignments to ensure your understanding of the lessons learned.
If you can adjust apertures and shutter speeds on your camera, this course is for you! This class has a fee of $125.00 for the 5 weeks of instructions. This course can be taken alone or as the series.

Dodd College II
Class fee for Dayton college II is $125.00 ($75.00 if DCI was taken). Free seminar tickets do NOT apply to this course. Registration must take place in person.
Learn the more advanced use of your camera in this course. We will continue our exploration of exposure, the “abbreviated” ZONE SYSTEM, metering techniques for digital cameras, etc. We will also discuss proper lens selection including focal length, “field-of-view”, and lens perspective vs. viewing perspective. Other topics include White Balance, Histograms and their interpretation, and shooting in “RAW” vs. JPEG. Shooting assignments will also be given to ensure your understanding of these topics. This class has a fee of $125.00 for the 5 weeks of instructions. However, if Dodd College I was taken, the fee for the course is reduced to $75.00
This course can be taken alone or as the series.

Photoshop Elements 10 – Introductory Lab Workshop
Want a hands-on introduction to using Photoshop Elements to make the most of your pictures? Then this is the class for you! This three-part, hands-on lab class will teach you how to use Photoshop Elements 10. You will follow along on your laptop as we cover how to use automatic and manual adjustments. You will learn how to utilize tools such as the clone tool, blending brushes, and red eye removal. We will address the importance of the selection tools for more precise editing and provide a basic introduction to using layers to change the content of your images. As an added bonus, you may purchase a copy of Photoshop Elements 10 at a deep discount – at least 50% - with the enrollment to this class!
This class will meet once a week for three consecutive weeks. A laptop and Photoshop Elements 10 are required to participate.
