Class Overview
Once you feel comfortable producing images with speedlights, you will find your next degree of creative freedom within the studio. A studio is any location where you control the light exposing your subject. In this class we will explore how much creative control can be found in the studio. There are five primary characteristics to light, namely luminosity, light contrast, specularity, direction, and white balance. We will discuss manipulating each.

Class Overview
Photography is an art form that relies heavily on the creative and technical use of lenses. "At Length on Lenses" is a comprehensive class designed for photographers of all levels who want to understand the most fundamental tool to controlling how your image comes out: your lens. We will cover what the terminology on lenses means, how lens design decisions affect the choices you have, how to match your purpose to the correct lens, and how to understand what features matter to you.
What You’ll Learn
- Lens fundamentals, such as focal length, maximum aperture, perspective distortion, and focusing motors
- Prime lenses, including a discussion on chromatic aberration, sharpness, barrel distortion, flaring and ghosting
- Zoom lenses, with emphasis on convenience, framing, and atmospheric compression
- Specialty lenses, including, macro, wide angle, and fisheye
- Features in newer lenses, including aspherical lens elements, upgraded focusing motors, firmware updates, and declicked aperture rings.
