The power zoom function ensures consistent zooming at a steady speed, while remote control options via NX Tether, SnapBridge, and NX Field apps enable operation from a computer, smartphone, or tablet. For added versatility, remote zoom control is also supported through the optional MC-N10 video grip.

Hi-Res Zoom for Enhanced Video Recording

When paired with the Nikon Z9 or Z8, the Hi-Res Zoom function extends the angle of view to an equivalent of 270mm when shooting in 4K, enhancing creative flexibility.

The NIKKOR Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ lens offers a compact and lightweight design at just 2.66 lbs, making it well-balanced for handheld shooting, gimbals, and stabilizer systems. Its internal focusing mechanism ensures smooth operation, enhancing stability in various shooting setups.

Engineered for exceptional image quality, the lens incorporates three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements and four aspherical elements, effectively minimizing chromatic aberrations and delivering sharp, high-resolution images. Nikon’s advanced Meso Amorphous Coat—its most powerful antireflection technology—significantly reduces ghosting and flare from light entering at any angle, maintaining exceptional contrast and clarity.

With a constant f/4 maximum aperture, the lens provides excellent depth-of-field control for subject isolation and smooth, natural bokeh. Additionally, the close focusing distances of 13.4" (wide) and 22.4" (telephoto) allow for dynamic close-up shots with beautiful background separation.

Durable Build & Enhanced Usability

A rectangular lens hood is included to minimize stray light and flare, while a convenient filter adjustment window enables quick changes between circular polarizers and variable ND filters without removing the hood.

The front element is coated with a fluorine layer to repel dust, oil, and water, contributing to the lens’s dust- and drip-resistant construction. For seamless operation, L-Fn buttons are strategically placed on the side and top, allowing easy function customization—including zoom speed—whether shooting horizontally or vertically.

Customization extends to the zoom ring’s angle and rotation direction, while support for linear manual focus drive ensures precise, smooth focusing.
