- A maximum aperture of f/6.3 allows the lens to be shorter and lighter without significantly compromising light-gathering abilities when paired with the OSS.

- Two XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors generate fast and responsive AF performance that's equally quiet and smooth. The focusing system is compatible with continuous still and video shooting speeds up to 120 fps.

Teleconverter Compatibility

The FE 600mm f/6.3 GM OSS is compatible with the separately available Sony FE 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters. These teleconverters can be used while still retaining full autofocus and auto-exposure capabilities. When used, the 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters will provide effective focal lengths and apertures of 840mm f/8 and 1200mm f/11, respectively.
