Tamron 16-50mm f/2.8 A Lens for Nikon Z

Tamron 16-50mm F/2.8 A Overview

Designed to never leave your camera, the 16-50mm f/2.8 A Lens from Tamron is a lightweight and compact standard zoom lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras. Offering a versatile wide-to-telephoto zoom range, this lens captures everything from family selfies and sweeping landscapes to tight portraits in crisp detail thanks to a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture, 6" minimum object distance, and high clarity lens coating. Moisture-resistant construction protects the lens during inclement weather, and a fluorine coating on the front lens element protects against dust, dirt, and smearing.

Premium Optical Construction

Thanks to the circular 7-blade diaphragm and large f/2.8 maximum aperture, this lens creates beautifully rounded bokeh with smooth focus falloff. For greater subject separation, a 6" minimum object distance allows you to get extremely close and create exaggerated wide-angle perspectives, while Glass Molded Aspherical and Low Dispersion lens elements minimize distortion and chromatic aberration for a more accurate final image.

High-Speed Autofocus

Complementing the versatile zoom range is a high-speed VXD linear motor focus system capable of precise subject tracking, ensuring you'll never miss a moment no matter your subject.

The VXD focus system is designed for quiet operation, making it suitable for creating stills and videos in noise-sensitive environments.

Video-Friendly Design

The lightweight design, quiet focusing, and wide-angle design make the 16-50mm f/2.8 an ideal video lens for vlogging, home movies, and content creation. The 16mm wide end makes it easy to record yourself without losing the background, while the well-balanced construction allows comfortable shooting handheld or with a gimbal. The lens also supports TAMRON Lens Utility, allowing you to assign practical functions for videography.
